Underwater Robotics Camp is a one-week daily summer camp at Adventure Aquarium for teens grades 6-9.
Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) boldly go where human SCUBA divers cannot! During this week long ROV program, camper-engineers will hone their maker skills to design and build their own underwater robot. They will learn about the industrial and scientific applications of ROVs and develop hands-on skills like soldering, waterproofing, and frame construction. Camp culminates with a friendly competition, where campers will pilot their ROVs through challenges based on real-world situations.
Camper-engineers will:
- Design, build and pilot their own submersible ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle)
- Develop skills like soldering, electrical circuitry, tool use, and more
- Cultivate engineering, design, and problem solving skills
- Use STEM concepts to create and test custom tools for their ROV
- Participate in a friendly ROV competition where they must navigate simulated, real-world engineering challenges
Camp will be held August 6th through August 10th, 2018
Camp runs from 9am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday.
Camper need to bring a bag lunch, a snack will be provided each day.
